The first session in this module introduces the Pediatric Pandemic Network and the Disaster Networking Collaborative and reviews how children's hospitals can engage in a quality improvement project to enhance disaster preparedness through hospital infrastructure.
Learning Objectives
- Describe why a prepared network of children’s hospitals is beneficial during an emergency, disaster, or pandemic.
- Clarify the importance of building a robust children’s hospital DNC team, including approaches for the team leader and participants to support each other by taking on various roles and responsibilities.
- Understand the requirements or expectations for DNC participation, including completing the Intake Survey and environmental scan, and achieving improvements through a QI project or change process.
- Indicate why teams should remain engaged, complete the collaborative, and transition to the Disaster Response Collaborative.
