Planning for the Needs of All Children

Community reunification plans should address the distinct needs and challenges of the different child populations within the community. Planning should account for differences in age, development, health, disability, communication, culture, language, family structure, legal status, and access to resources.

Child-informed planning helps ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, can receive appropriate support and be safely reunified with a verified parent, guardian, caregiver, or other authorized custodial adult during or after an emergency.
