PPN Learn Code of Conduct

PPN Learn brings together learners and professionals from around the world. This Code of Conduct helps ensure that PPN Learn remains a welcoming, supportive environment for all users, regardless of race, religion, nationality, sesx, age, disability, political affiliation, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.

This Code of Conduct was developed in collaboration with the PPN Informatics team and will be reviewed annually with input from users, instructors, and administrators. It is intended as a guide for all appropriate participation on the platform, though the PPN Learn team reserves the rights to determine whether behavior is acceptable.

General Guidelines

This Code applies to all forum posts, comments, and private messages on PPN Learn. All users are expected to follow these guidelines. Failure to do so may result in removal of content or loss of access to the platform.

PPN Learn and its partners may provide educational information within the platform but cannot respond to every post. Peer responses are valuable but do not represent official communication from PPN Learn or its partners.

Users retain ownership of content they post; however, by posting on PPN Learn, users grant PPN permission to use that content under a Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. This allows noncommercial sharing with attribution and without modification. PPN may also use posted content in marketing or educational materials. Permission will be requested before using a user's image or full name. If an account is deleted, posts and messages will be anonymized.

User Responsibilities

All users are expected to:

  • Help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
  • Follow all PPN Learn policies and guidelines.
  • Interact respectfully with instructors, administrators, and other users.
  • Avoid bullying, harassment, or disruptive behavior.
  • Ask questions when clarification is needed and seek help when problems arise.
  • Take responsibility for their actions and contributions.
Inappropriate Behavior

The following behaviors are not permitted on PPN Learn:

  • Dangerous speech: Content that promotes fear, violence, harm, or hateful language.
  • Harassment or intimidation: Offensive comments or actions related to race, religion, or disability.
  • Violence or threats: Threats, incitement of violence, encouragement of self-harm, or sharing private identifying information ("doxxing").
  • Discriminatory or exclusionary language.
  • Unwelcome sexual behavior: Sexual comments, jokes, imagery, or advances that create an uncomfortable environment.
  • Encouraging misconduct: Supporting or encouraging others to violate the Code of Conduct.
  • Disruption: Repeated interruption or disruption of discussions, presentations, or learning activities.
  • Retaliation: Harassing or penalizing someone for reporting concerns or participating in protected activity.
Enforcement and Consequences

All reported violations will be reviewed using the PPN Learn Community Guidelines and the PPN Learn Code of Conduct to evaluate the severity of the violation.

Depending on the situation, responses may include:

  • No action if no violation is found
  • A warning
  • Temporary suspension of platform access
  • Removal from specific forums, roles, or activities
  • Permanent removal from the PPN Learn platform or related community spaces

Repeated misconduct, harassment, or abusive behavior may result in account suspension or permanent expulsion.
