The PPN Disaster Mental Health ECHO Series empowers pediatric primary care and family medicine clinicians (MD, DO, NP, PA) to confidently address disaster-related mental health challenges in children. Through six virtual sessions, the series provides actionable strategies to identify trauma, apply psychological first aid, and implement brief interventions in clinical practice. As the mental health needs of children grow in the face of increasing crises, this training strengthens provider readiness and reinforces the role of the medical home in disaster response. Join the series to enhance your skills, support patient well-being, and help build a trauma-informed care system for children and families.

What You Will Learn
- Identify signs/symptoms of trauma, acute stress disorder, and PTSD, and triage accordingly
- Apply Psychological First Aid (PFA) techniques in primary care settings
- Describe anticipatory guidance and brief psychosocial interventions that can be implemented in the office visit promote emotional and behavioral regulation and well-being
- Recognize and address clinician burnout and compassion fatigue
- Develop safety plans and make referrals for patients in crisis
Additional Information
Participants can earn up to 6.0 hours of continuing education (CE) credit. CE credit is available for physicians and nurses. Each live session offers 1.0 hours of CE credit.
