Course Telehealth for Critical Communications During Disasters: Course Overview

What You Will Learn

• Summarize the goals of disaster telehealth consultations from the perspectives of both the requesting provider and the consulting subject matter expert.
• Apply critical communication principles, including brevity, clarity, and closed-loop communication, during disaster telehealth consultations.
• Identify the key components of an effective telehealth presence that support communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making.
• Perform a rapid initial assessment to efficiently communicate critical patient information during a disaster telehealth consultation.
• Conduct a focused disaster telehealth consultation that delivers timely, concise, and actionable recommendations to support patient care.

Learners may obtain a PPN Certificate and/or continuing education credit by completing all required elements, including watching the video(s), completing the modules with knowledge checks, submitting the attendance code, passing the quiz, and completing the evaluation.
