5.1. Response Deployment
Overview
This section will provide guidance and recommendations for just-in-time implementation of the Pediatric Disaster Behavioral Health Framework and supporting tools/resources. It will focus on integration of this framework within existing emergency management processes and structures. For broad response and recovery recommendations, please see this section.
Rapid Deployment Recommendations:
- Review and become familiar with the overall Pediatric Disaster Behavioral health Framework including goals, functions, and key principles/assumptions. This serves as the model and functional approach for this toolkit and supporting resources.
- Review and implement the Pediatric Disaster Behavioral Health Operational Planning Process. This process will guide the development of a mission, creation of response/recovery objectives, and implementation of strategies.
- Reference the following sections, as needed during implementation, for additional context and recommendations:
- Structures & Systems Overview for a list of key emergency management connection points for response and recovery efforts.
- ICS/HICS Integration for recommendations and considerations on ICS/HICS integration.
- Phase-based Recommendations to consider the current context of the incident and potential pediatric disaster behavioral health needs over time.
