About the content
Practicing effective triage is critical for saving lives in mass casualty incidents (MCIs) and disasters, where rapid decision-making can determine patient outcomes. This short, gamified simulation empowers emergency medical services (EMS) providers to apply evidence-based triage principles, including considerations for pediatric patients, in a realistic, time-pressured environment. Future expansions will include additional disaster scenarios to further strengthen preparedness. This 5-minute simulation offers a safe, engaging way to sharpen triage skills that can be applied in real-world disaster response.
What You Will Learn
- Apply systematic triage methods (START/JumpSTART) in a simulated mass casualty incident
- Recognize pediatric-specific considerations in triage and patient prioritization
- Strengthen decision-making skills under time-sensitive, high-pressure conditions
