Course summary
The Pediatric Readiness Education Series is a virtual, interprofessional education series designed to improve the safety and quality of emergency care for children. The series delivers practical, evidence-based education on high-priority pediatric topics aligned with national Pediatric Readiness priorities, with a focus on real-world application in diverse emergency department settings.
Sessions are led by national pediatric emergency care experts and emphasize common and high-risk pediatric presentations, including mental health emergencies, airway management, traumatic brain injury, pain assessment, and vital sign reassessment. Content is grounded in current evidence and designed to help emergency clinicians translate national guidance into consistent bedside practice and systems-level improvement.
Why this matters: many emergency departments care for children infrequently, yet pediatric emergencies require timely recognition, coordinated team response, and pediatric-specific decision-making. Variability in pediatric readiness can lead to delays, inconsistent reassessment, and safety risks. This series supports clinicians and teams in building confidence, strengthening workflows, and improving outcomes for children in emergency care settings.
Enroll to gain practical tools, expert insight, and team-based strategies you can apply immediately to improve pediatric readiness and patient safety in your emergency department.
